Donald Trump reveals sava:ge nickname for reporter and thre:atens to su:e her in furious outburst

Donald Trump recently lashed out at a reporter, giving her a derogatory nickname and even suggesting he might take legal action against her.

The journalist, Maggie Haberman—a Pulitzer Prize winner—wrote the 2022 biography Confidence Man: The Making of Donald Trump and the Breaking of America. She also received a Pulitzer in 2018 for her reporting on connections between Trump’s advisors and Russia.

In a post on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump harshly criticized Haberman, accusing her of publishing false information about him. While it’s unclear what specifically triggered his comments, Haberman’s recent work includes coverage of Kristi Noem’s dismissal as Homeland Security Secretary on March 5, as well as a CNN appearance on March 12 discussing the war in Iran.

In his post, Trump insulted Haberman with a mocking nickname and labeled her a dishonest journalist from The New York Times, claiming her reports were untrue and misleading.

He also hinted at adding her and some of her colleagues to an ongoing lawsuit in Florida against the newspaper.

Trump has frequently criticized media coverage and has a history of making personal remarks about reporters, especially women. For example, during a recent exchange, PBS correspondent Liz Landers questioned him about the FBI seizing election records in Arizona. Trump responded by suggesting the election might have been rigged. When Landers pushed back, noting there was no evidence of fraud, Trump dismissed her as a “rotten reporter.”

In other incidents, Trump has insulted journalists such as Bloomberg’s Catherine Lucey, CBS News’ Nancy Cordes, and New York Times reporter Katie Rogers, as well as commenting on CNN’s Kaitlan Collins for “not smiling enough.”

At the time of reporting, Maggie Haberman had not publicly responded to Trump’s remarks.
