Many family stories are heartwarming, full of love, chaos, and unforgettable warmth. But some stories capture the beauty of everyday life by reminding us of the hilarious imperfections that make every family unique. It started when my 10-year-old son came home crying. He told me everyone had been asked to bring their mom’s specialty dish for the teacher’s birthday—except him, because “he’s the poor kid.” I saw red.
